Health care

Throughout the years of my medical practice I have watched Congress from a distance and in particular the direction that health care has taken. I have listened to the well intentioned legislators and leaders. I have observed the impact their decisions have made on my patients and the profession of medicine. I feel the pain and the anxiety of my patients and the chorus of disillusionment from my colleagues. I realize there exists a real and urgent need for those who are actively engaged and participate in a day to day delivery of medical care to address our growing health care problems, not career politicians.

No matter how well intentioned the proposals are, the unperceived consequences will not be apparent to the Washington committees made up of lawyers and individuals who are decades removed from society.

I realize that while I presently help and represent each individual patient I care for, I have the greatest opportunity to take my experience and drive into the political arena where the reshaping of health care is taking place. The voice of Midwestern values in the health care debate will have a greater impact coming from an actively practicing physician than from any career politician.

I believe I provide a voice which will be accepted and whose experience will be acknowledged.

I am driven in this goal of being a representative you can be proud of, can depend on, who will listen, and will work diligently on your behalf.
